What is software?

Software is the combination and organization of certain instructions. Through which the computer is programmed to perform a specific task. A computer is useless without software. For example, the browser in which you are reading this text is a software. So without software it is not possible to search, watch, read or download anything on the internet.

Software is basically of two types:-

What is System Software?
These software programs are designed to run computer application programs and hardware. System software is a computer program that creates the interface between the computer hardware and the user. System software coordinates the operations and functions of hardware and software.
In addition, it controls the functioning of computer hardware and provides an environment or platform for all other types of software to function. OS (Operating System) is one example of system software; It manages all other computer programs. Other examples of system software include firmware, computer language translators, and system utilities.
What is application software?
The most common type of software is application software. It is basically a computer software package that performs a specific task for the user or in some cases for another application. An application can be self-contained, or it can be a group of programs that manage the application for the user.
In simple words, the software which is developed only for specific and single task is called application software. Examples of modern applications include office suites, graphics software, databases and database management programs, web browsers, word processors, software development tools, image editors, and communication platforms.

What is the function of the software?
Software is a program or collection of programs. But through which the computer is managed. If you think you will watch a video, you will first give instructions to the computer and then the video will be opened through the software.
